An explosion rocked the General Hospital in Bagudo, Kebbi State, in the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, targeting the facility at the premises of the hospital and the residential area.
A joint security team consisting of the Nigeria Police Force, the Military, and local vigilante groups was mobilized to the scene to secure the facility and restore order.
The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed that, no casualties or loss of life were recorded in the incident. Occupants of the affected area had reportedly evacuated the building before the blast occurred.
A building within the staff quarters of the hospital was critically damaged. Experts from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD-CBRN) unit are currently on-site conducting a forensic assessment to identify the nature of the explosive used.
