Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the termination of four of his Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) over their alleged physical assault on a local lawmaker.
The dismissal, was announced by the state government on Tuesday, December 23, after a special investigative committee found the aides guilty of attacking Abdulrahman Abubakar Sheriff, the councillor representing Shamaki Ward.
The incident involved a violent confrontation with Councillor Sheriff within Gombe Local Government Area.
After public outcry, Governor Yahaya established a probe committee led by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi. The committee worked alongside security agencies to verify the allegations of physical assault.
The dismissed aides were ordered to surrender all government property, including vehicles and ID cards, to the SSG’s office with immediate effect.
