Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Barrister Sule Shu’aibu (SAN), had his mobile phone stolen during a high-profile security meeting on Thursday.

The incident unfolded in Kaduna where several senior security officials gathered to discuss pressing internal security issues. Despite the heavy presence of security personnel, a suspect managed to snatch the Commissioner’s phone in the middle of the event.

Details about the thief’s identity and methods used in carrying out his mission remain unclear as investigations continue.

Similar cases have been reported in 2022, where the phone of former Vice President Namadi Sambo was stolen at a book launch event in Abuja. The meeting quickly shifted from focus on security strategy to addressing how such a lapse could occur during a gathering of top security minds.

Barrister Sule Shu’aibu declined immediate comment, but sources close to the commissioner said efforts are underway to recover the device.

The Kaduna State government has yet to issue a formal statement, but the incident has already ignited discussions nationwide on improving event security protocols.
