All hands on deck for a greater nation, FG unveils theme for 2025 independence anniversary

Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations will revolve around the theme “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” announced by the Federal Government.

Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, revealed the theme in a statement from Abuja on Wednesday. The slogan emphasizes unity, cooperation, and patriotism across government bodies, private enterprises, civil society, and citizens to foster peace, prosperity, and national advancement.

The chosen motto embodies Nigeria’s enduring spirit since gaining independence in 1960. It shows the importance of building on past accomplishments while pursuing new objectives aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Government institutions and their partners have been urged to tailor their activities in line with the anniversary’s goal, ensuring the underlying message permeates all aspects of national society.

Planned events for the 65th anniversary include a Juma’at prayer scheduled for Friday, September 26, an interdenominational church service on Sunday, September 28, and a World Press Conference set for Monday, September 29, all to take place in Abuja.
