The Kano State Police Command announced the arrest of two individuals connected to an armed robbery and attempted murder that took place at Bera Estate, Chevron in Lagos. The suspects were detained in Kano on September 11, 2025, following intelligence-led operations.
Officers from Kano’s tactical unit, apprehended Mathew Adewole, 25, from Na’ibawa Quarters, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, from Unguwa Uku Quarters. The duo is accused of attacking a resident of Bera Estate, known as Lil-Kesh, on August 19, 2025. During the attack, the victim suffered a severe neck injury while the perpetrators tried to rob and take his life. The suspects allegedly coerced Lil-Kesh into transferring ₦2,120,000 from his bank account to Mukhtar Muhammad’s account via mobile banking.
According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, the success in apprehending the suspects resulted from thorough information gathering and effective community support, an operational approach encouraged by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further questioning and legal action.
