Two Adekunle Ajasin University students, Andrel Okah and John Abba, have been missing for over two weeks, sparking anxiety among peers, police confirmed on July 9, 2025, in Akungba-Akoko.
The 200-level students, Okah from History and International Studies and Abba from Economics, vanished without trace, missing classes and campus activities. Fellow student Ajibola reported failed attempts to reach them via phone, raising fears of kidnapping.
Ajibola expressed frustration over the lack of tangible action from school management and police, who suggested the students might be on vacation. The student community remains worried and agitated, demanding urgent assistance to locate their coursemates.
A senior university official, speaking anonymously, confirmed the case was reported to police, hinting at possible “unwholesome activities” by some students. The institution’s spokesperson, Victor Akinpelumi, was unavailable for comment.
State police spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka stated the case is under investigation. The close friendship between Okah and Abba adds to concerns, as no leads have surfaced on their whereabouts.
