Security operatives have been deployed across the Kaduna metropolis to protect campaign billboards and posters of President Bola Tinubu ahead of Saturday’s official flag-off of the 2027 presidential campaign.

The security presence is primarily aimed at forestalling the vandalism of political materials and maintaining law and order.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) have taken over strategic locations from Kawo to the designated venue, while armed police officers are currently manning major routes, including Ahmadu Bello Way and the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital roundabout.

The Kaduna Township Stadium, which shares a boundary with the State Police Command headquarters, has received a major facelift and is currently restricted from public access. Vehicles belonging to the police special response team remain stationed at the main entrances to monitor movements.

The Organising Committee says comprehensive security measures are in place to ensure a hitch-free rally at the 8,000-capacity Kaduna Township Stadium.

The Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee and Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, after the inspection of the facilities, disclosed the readiness of the state to host the President alongside governors from the seven North-West states.

“I’m comfortable with what has been done so far; we have the holding area, the conveniences are ready, the pavilions are ready. What remains is the markings for the different states”, Balarabe said.

She assured party supporters that attendees will undergo rigorous security screening before entering the stadium.
