The former minister’s threat follows his recent exclusion from the final list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, says he will soon unmask the individuals working to scuttle his political ambition. The former minister urged his supporters to remain steadfast in prayer and ignore the distractions orchestrated by his political opponents.
Pantami’s candidacy faced a hurdle after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) excluded his name from its final list of governorship candidates published in October.
Following his exclusion, Pantami, through his legal team, issued a three-day ultimatum to INEC, demanding the immediate reinstatement of his name. He stated that he had complied with all statutory electoral requirements ahead of the 2027 polls.
Despite INEC’s insistence that his exclusion remains valid, the former minister addressed his supporters in a Hausa video broadcast on his verified Facebook page on Saturday saying:
“I want to begin by expressing my profound gratitude to my fellow good people of Gombe State for their prayers,” the statement by Pantami read in part. “Do not relent. Do not be angry or discouraged, because you are the ones who will be elevated, provided you remain steadfast in your belief in Allah”.
Pantami disclosed that internal investigations have unmasked the identities of those funding the plot against his political movement. He promised to release their names and tactics to the public shortly.
“As for those whom you accused of repeatedly frustrating this movement, our investigations have now confirmed that these allegations are true,” he stated. “In a short while, we will expose, with detailed explanations, the hypocrisy and the plots carried out, as well as those behind it.”
Pantami defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after the party settled for a consensus candidate. He subsequently emerged as the PDP flag-bearer on May 26, 2026, and later won a court-ordered rerun after a rival aspirant, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, successfully challenged his initial primary victory.
