President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote as the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School.
Dr. Odusote, is a seasoned academic who currently serves as the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Lagos Campus. Her four-year tenure officially begins on January 10, after the end of Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma’s eight-year term.
Dr. Odusote will oversee seven campuses nationwide and lead reforms required to modernize legal training nationwide.
Nigerian Law School, established 64 years ago, is the only gateway for law graduates to be called to the Nigerian Bar. Historically, its leadership has been dominated by male professors and Senior Advocates of Nigeria. Dr. Odusote will be the first female Director-General in the Law School ever since it was established.
She holds a PhD from the University of Surrey (UK) and an LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University, specializing in company and commercial law.
She will take over on January 10, succeeding Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, whose tenure will be officially over on January 9.
