Bandit kingpin Siddi apprehended in Kwara State over viral social media video

The Nigeria Police Force on Friday announced the arrest of two  kidnapping kingpins in Kwara State, who have terrorized four northern states including Zamfara, Katsina, Niger, and Kwara.

The prime suspect, Abubakar Usman (alias Siddi), gained popularity on social media after flaunting illegal firearms and stacks of cash, in a video.

Operatives from the Intelligence Response Team (FID–IRT) and the Kwara State Command intercepted the two bandits along Komen-Masallaci axis in Kaiama Local Government Area.

The operation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle loaded with 20 rounds of live ammunition, ₦500,000 unspent ransom money, A brand new Honda Ace 125 motorcycle, valued at ₦1.85m, which the police confirmed was purchased using proceeds from previous kidnappings.

Beyond kidnapping and banditry, the police revealed that this specific gang also supplies ammunition to other terrorists across the North.

The suspects are currently being investigated with hopes that the investigation will lead to the arrest of the remaining syndicates and the recovery of their hidden armory.
