Fire erupted at Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, in the early hours of Thursday morning, causing panic before emergency services successfully contained the blaze to a single retail outlet.
The incident, which occurred around 3:00 a.m., this morning, did not result in any casualties, though the cause remains under investigation.

Jabi Lake Mall is one of Abuja’s most prominent shopping and leisure complexes, housing numerous local and international brands. The fire incident, occurring at a prominent international brand outlet, which triggered concern. This event comes roughly a year after a serious fire outbreak at the Old Karu Market in Abuja.
The swift response by a coordinated team of fire departments, including the Federal Fire Service, the Berger Fire Department and the FCT Fire Service, prevented the destruction of the larger structure.
FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, confirmed the deployment of police officers to secure the premises against potential looting, ensuring public order during the emergency operation.
