Former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido failed to purchase the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s headquarters on Monday morning.

Addressing reporters after his unsuccessful attempt, Lamido publicly expressed his dissatisfaction and vowed to pursue court action if he is prevented from contesting the election.

The incident occurs just weeks before the PDP’s elective National Convention, scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

‎Lamido’s attempt to obtain the form comes despite reports that the party’s elected governors had recently endorsed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, the former Minister of Special Duties, for the chairmanship position, making it difficult for other aspirants like Lamido, Ibrahim Shekarau, and Ahmed Makarfi to challenge the preferred candidate.
