Bumper harvest: Price of Food stuffs crashes in Taraba

As harvesting of crops started across Taraba State price of Foodstuff further crashed.
It was gathered that in part of Gashaka,Bali, Donga and Gassol local government areas 100kg bag of newly harvested Maize is sold at the rate of N18,000 to N17,000
Similarly 100kg bag of groundnut has came down from N40,000 to N25,000 while 100kg of  newly harvested Melon Seeds (Agushi) is now sold as the rate of N75,000 as against N90,000 sold few weeks ago
Our reporter gathered that price of Sesame seeds has came down from N110,00 to N90,000 following Bumper harvest being witnessed by farmers in the state. 
Price of both red and white Gari has also came down from N100,000 t0 N70,000 and N80,000.
 Our Findings further revealed that prices of old stock Maize has further crashed across the.

In Bali, Jatau, Maihula,Suntai,Garbabi and Garba_ Chede markets 100kg bag of old stock Maize is now sold at  the rate of N24,000 to N26,000.
Prices of white Beans,Soya Beans, Millet , dried Cassava  and raw Cassava has crashed in the state.
A large scale farmer,  Alhaji Ali Mai hula said  he and other farmers have started harvesting their Melonseeds and Sesame seeds farmers while others are also harvesting their Maize and groundnut farms and bumper harvest was witnessed. 
He said though price of farm produce crashed farmers have no option than to continue with  their old occupation.
