Benue State Government has launched a quick response squad of the Civil Protection Guards to enhance security of the state.
Governor Hyacinth Alia performed the launch Tuesday in Makurdi with a charge on the officers to compliment efforts of conventional security agencies to achieve results.
The state government is now looking inward in search of peace and security in Benue communities with this launch as part of the efforts.
The move according to Governor Hyacinth Alia is one of his many initiatives put together in line with his vision to secure the state and so demands absolute loyalty of the officers to the state.
He says the squad will be subordinate to the conventional security while serving as first respondents to security issues in communities.
Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode who mentions periodic review of the officers activities to keep them in check, the Governor hints at the state government
