Nigerian singer Spyro has decried the nation’s poor electricity supply, raising concerns over exorbitant tariffs with zero service delivery.

The artist visited an Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) office to register his displeasure over a lack of power at his residence, despite paying for the Band A classification.

He expressed dismay after discovering that officials of the electricity distribution company were also without power.

According to the singer, upon arrival, he met the EKEDC workers fanning themselves in total darkness, a situation that moved him to compassion.

“I went to EKDC office out of frustration to find out why I pay for Band A and yet zero electricity, and on getting there, I got moved by compassion as the workers were literally fanning themselves, no electricity”, Spyro.

According to a post shared on his Instagram page, Spyro recounted a conversation with a female staff member who attended to him.

He quoted her directly saying, “My neighbours shame me for working here, yet I have no light”.

He added, “And yet some FOOLS still seem to think everything is okay in this country.”

His account has drawn fresh debate from consumers who pay higher tariffs under the Band A classification but continue to experience persistent power outages.
