No lives lost as firefighters tame inferno at FIRS Wuse office

A fire broke out on Saturday, at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) office located at No. 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The fire, which was concentrated on the fourth floor of the building, prompted an emergency response from on-duty security and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service. While the incident caused damage to several offices, FIRS management confirmed that the fire was successfully contained and resulted in no loss of life or injuries.

According to the initial investigation, the outbreak was triggered by an electrical fault.

‎The FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, has ordered a review of all internal safety protocols and fire prevention measures across the facilities of the agency nationwide.

‎The FIRS has assured the public that its operations remain stable and that the damaged offices are being assessed for repair.
