Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have abducted the newly elected Vice Chairman and two councillors of Biu Local Government Area. The attack occurred on Wednesday evening, December 17, along Kamuya-Buni Yadi road, a transit point between Borno and Yobe states.
The victims were among the winners of the Borno State Local Government elections held just five days ago.
The primary targets identified are Alhaji Saidu, the Vice Chairman and two councillors representing
Zarawuyaku and Miringa wards. One of the abducted councillors is the immediate past Vice Chairman of the LGA.
The officials were traveling in a Hizbah Hummer bus, alongside other unidentified passengers from Potiskum, Yobe State. The total number of captives remains unconfirmed but is believed to include several civilians.
