Son hacks father to death over money dispute in Benue

An elderly man, Ankyambe Hembaor, was allegedly hacked to death by his own son, Tordue Hembaor, following a heated dispute over money, in the Nyamatsoo Mbagen community of Buruku Local Government Area, Benue State.

The incident, was disclosed by security expert Zagazola Makama on social media on Monday who disclosed that the victim was rushed to Agbecha hospital, but died while receiving treatment.

The confrontation reportedly occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday night when the suspect allegedly attacked his father with a machete after the victim refused his request for money.

The Police command has launched a manhunt against the suspects who immediately fled the community after the attack.
‎
A police officer confirmed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Buruku has deployed operatives to the scene to document the incident and move the body to the hospital mortuary.

Authorities have confirmed that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has commenced a full investigation into the matter.
