‎The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a boutique owner, Godwin Emeka, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on October 8, after he allegedly excreted 127 wraps of cocaine concealed inside his body.

‎Godwin Emeka, 52, who runs boutiques in Lagos and Anambra states, was detained following intelligence that led to his interception upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, via Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 941.

‎The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said Emeka was subjected to a full-body scan, which revealed the presence of drugs swallowed for smuggling. Authorities immediately recovered 58 wraps of cocaine from his clothing, and during a prolonged observation, Emeka excreted an additional 69 wraps, totaling 127 wraps weighing approximately 1.388 kilograms.

‎The NDLEA also uncovered multiple illicit drug consignments during raids in Lagos, intercepting methamphetamine, pentazocine, tramadol, skunk cannabis, and Rohypnol destined for various countries including the UK, Australia, Turkey, the UAE, and South Africa.

‎Several suspects, including freight agents and transporters, were arrested in connection with these seizures.

‎The NDLEA has pledged to expand sensitization campaigns and maintain rigorous enforcement to disrupt drug trafficking networks. Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), NDLEA Chairman, urged continued vigilance and community cooperation to combat the ever growing drug menace trend.
