The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally approved the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), ending months of internal conflict. The announcement came on Wednesday in Abuja, confirming a newly settled leadership team.
The commission updated the party’s official records, confirming the members of the new National Working Committee. The team is chaired by Senator David Mark, who takes the helm as National Chairman. Joining him is former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, assigned as National Secretary.
Other key figures in the leadership group include Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad serving as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as the National Financial Secretary, and Professor Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor, the former Edo State Governor, now appointed National Legal Adviser.
In July, the opposition coalition formally selected the ADC as its official political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Prominent coalition members supporting this political front include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and ex-governors Peter Obi of Anambra State, Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, among others. Their support shows the party’s strengthened position as it prepares for the upcoming electoral contest.
The ADC is ready to intensify its campaign strategies and political activities nationwide, with the leadership now officially recognized.
