Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has stated that citizens who fail to recognise the current administration’s progress may require visual aids, specifically recommending what she tagged “Bola Tinubu eyeglasses.”
Senator Tinubu reiterated her commitment to her husband’s 2027 re-election bid, expressing hopes to leave the Presidential Villa in 2031.
She made the declaration on Friday during the official inauguration of the Abuja headquarters of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots mobilisation group, convened by Government Ekpemupolo, which is campaigning for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 polls.
The First Lady’s made referenced to ‘Jigi-Bola,’ a free medical initiative providing eye screening and surgeries, which was introduced by President Tinubu during his tenure as Lagos State governor in 2001. Defending the administration’s record, she made mentioned of the recent improvements at Nigerian airports as clear evidence of national progress.
Mrs Tinubu expressed optimism about the nation’s trajectory, stressing that she desires to retire into a more prosperous country in her seventies. She commissioned the campaign facility and declared her support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Things are happening in Nigeria, except those who don’t see; maybe we’ll give them some Bola Tinubu eyeglasses. We are doing that, JigiBola. I want to get to the airport. I want to travel so quickly. And you can see our airports too are changing. I want to leave Aso Rock, in 2031, by the grace of God, and enter a Nigeria that me as a 70-something-year-old woman will enjoy.”
