British-Nigerian boxing superstar Anthony Joshua has been discharged from a Lagos hospital after a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
The crash occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday, December 29. Joshua, is declared clinically fit to continue his recovery from home after undergoing observation for minor injuries and emotional shock.
The accident involved a Lexus SUV colliding with a stationary truck. Two members of Joshua’s team, Lateef Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died at the scene. Their bodies are being prepared for repatriation to the UK.
Joshua escaped without broken bones but remains heavy-hearted as he recuperates under the care of his mother in Lagos.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing, with police searching for the driver of the stationary truck who fled the scene.
