The Kano State Police Command has arrested Mustapha Isma’il, 25, for the alleged murder of his friend, Halifa, 24. The incident occurred on the night of December 26, in Sheshe area of Kano metropolis following a disagreement over a mobile phone.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the victim was found bleeding at the scene and was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
The suspect, while narrating the event that led to the stabbing, claimed the conflict started from a trivial situation while they were sitting in front of a shop.
Isma’il was watching a movie on the phone when Halifa allegedly ran toward the group. Fearing the phone might be damaged, Isma’il issued a warning, which later led to an argument, during which the suspect claims Halifa struck him with an object, causing him to bleed. In anger, Isma’il went home to retrieve a knife, returned to the scene, and stabbed Halifa in the stomach.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a thorough probe.
