Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has condemned the current administration, declaring that any Nigerian who votes to keep President Bola Tinubu in power by 2027 lacks sound judgment.
Amaechi made the declaration while addressing supporters at an African Democratic Congress (ADC) stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Edo State.
The former minister, while making reference to a recent social media commentary regarding the upcoming presidential race, challenged Nigerians that anyone backing the current administration lacks sound judgment.
“They are going to vote for Tinubu. Only thieves can vote for Tinubu. I read on social media that it is in 2027 that we will know how many madmen we have in Nigeria, because it’s only a madman that can vote for Tinubu,” Amaechi stated.
The former governor warned the gathering in Edo state that delivering votes for the president from their region would reflect poorly on their collective reasoning.
“Only mad people will vote for Tinubu. If Edo people vote for Tinubu, that means Edo people are mad. If you are not mad, then Tinubu should not win here,” he added.
Amaechi’s comments come amid ongoing consultations and realignments among opposition figures seeking to build a formidable front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
