Veteran Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu has shared an update on his health, revealing that his 2015 brain surgery caused nerve damage that affected his sexual function.
Agwu made the revelation during a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show, where he openly spoke about the lingering effects of the surgery on his body, his career, and his personal relationships.
When the show’s host asked if his brain condition and the subsequent surgery affected any other parts of his body, Agwu answered plainly in Pidgin English:
“After I do am, prick no dey work again now. He no dey work”
Agwu underwent the surgery in the United States back in 2015 after doctors discovered three tumours in his brain, one of which was reportedly the size of a golf ball.
Fellow guests on the show, including comedian Mr. Patrick, from a medical standpoint, revealed that a nerve connected to the brain was likely affected during the procedure, leading to the erectile dysfunction he now experiences.
The comedian, during the show became emotional when talking about the impact the illness had on his social circle and career, which made him broke down in tears, recalling how people he thought were close to him abandoned him during his darkest moments.
