Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have arrested two elderly men for allegedly stealing a car, along the Eastern Bypass in the state.
The NSCDC Kano State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, confirmed the arrests during a press briefing on Friday, explaining that officers on a routine night patrol intercepted 61-year-old Abdullahi Sani and 63-year-old Abdullahi Suleiman around 2:10 am. The two men were caught driving out of the Ladanai Junction area along the Eastern Bypass, before they were arrested.
During the stop, officers recovered a stolen red Toyota Carina II Wagon with Nasarawa state license plates (LFA 417 AA), which the owner had reported three days before the arrest.
In a separate operation in Bompai, the NSCDC arrested a 45-year-old man named Suleiman Shehu, who works for Triumph Nigeria Limited, for allegedly vandalising his own company’s armoured cables.
“They were driving the vehicle out of the Ladanai area around 2:10 am when our personnel on duty intercepted and nabbed them. We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly provide credible information on suspicious activities to security agencies”,
Agalama.
All three suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution in court as soon as the preliminary investigations is completed.
