Police arrest son for beating 80-year-old father to death

The Katsina State Police Command on September 21, has arrested a 27-year-old man, Sada Tambai, in Mundadu Village within Bindawa Local Government Area, after he reportedly confessed to killing his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai, with a stick. After residents found the elderly man lying motionless outside his house, the District Head of Bindawa, Dan Yusufan Katsina, alerted the police, who rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where a doctor pronounced him dead on arrival. The police, after a quick preliminary investigation, arrested the perpetrator, Sada Tambai, who later confessed to hitting his father on the head with a stick. The State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for probe into the matter. Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, assured the public that the police will handle the case thoroughly and ensure justice is served for the late community leader. Sada Tambai currently remains in police custody and will be arraigned in court to face charges as soon as the investigation is complete.
