President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is correcting the errors of previous governments, while asking citizens for a second term to complete the job.
The President made this appeal on Friday during a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja, organized to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Tinubu sent a message of hope to the public, acknowledging that Nigeria has had a mixed journey over the decades but insisted that the country is finally moving in the right direction.
“The cumulative mistakes and the missed opportunities of the past are being corrected in this particular administration,” Abbas said on behalf of the President.
He told the gathering that the tough sacrifices Nigerians have made will soon pay off. He assured citizens that there will be light at the end of the tunnel and that peace and development are gradually returning to the country.
“We should give this government more opportunity for it to come back and finish the good work”, Tinubu.
The President used the event to campaign for his re-election, pleading on Nigerians to vote for his government in the next polls.
