The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed on Friday a vehicle crash in Bauchi State, which occurred at exactly 6:20 a.m. along the Jama’are-Azare axis of the Kano-Maiduguri Expressway, resulting to the death of nine passengers.
Out of 19 passengers traveling in a commercial vehicle from Gombe to Kano, nine died and 10 were hospitalized with various injuries.
The FRSC personnel have already evacuated survivors to the Federal Medical Centre in Azare for treatment and transferred the deceased to the hospital morgue for identification.
The FRSC, through the Sector Commander CC Apaji Danladi Boyi stated, that over speeding, fatigue, and loss of control were likely responsible for the accident.
The FRSC advised drivers to adhere to traffic regulations in order to prevent such occurrences from happening. The agency also pledged to continue its patrols to enforce speed limits and monitor the conduct of drivers.
