The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will carry out a mock accreditation exercise in Anambra State on October 25 to evaluate the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) ahead of the November governorship election.

The exercise will take place in selected polling units across Awka South, Idemili North, Oyi, Anambra East, Aguata, and Orumba North.

INEC aims to test the response time of the BVAS devices and the efficiency of uploading results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal. Voters in the selected areas are encouraged to participate to help improve the system.

In addition, the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters will take place from October 22 to October 26. Voters are advised to collect their PVCs from their original registration centres.

The exercise is expected to strengthen INEC’s preparedness for the governorship election and enhance transparency in the electoral process.
