The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, on June 11, 2025, demanded justice for Blessing Eze, an Igbo trader allegedly stabbed to death over a N1,500 religious levy at Ifo Market, Ogun State.

The group, led by National President Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, condemned the killing, urging the Ogun State Government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators, described as a gang posing as government agents. Eze was reportedly attacked after refusing to pay the levy, leading to her death.

Nnabuike called for transparency on the circumstances of Eze’s murder, emphasizing accountability to restore public trust. Social media posts echoed the outrage, with users pressing the Inspector General of Police and Ogun authorities for swift action.

The incident has heightened tensions, with Ohanaeze warning against further violence targeting Igbo traders. The group’s statement reflects growing demands for justice amid concerns over communal safety in Ogun State.
