President Bola Tinubu will be represented by key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in more than 20 states during the upcoming presidential re-election campaign.

According to the official campaign schedule released by the APC, the nationwide campaign will kick off in Kaduna on October 24, with Tinubu scheduled to personally attend rallies in 12 states, including Rivers, Oyo, Borno, Kano, and the grand finale in Lagos on January 9, while party chieftains and campaign council members will lead proceedings across the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The President had previously clarified that pressing administrative duties and national governance requirements would limit his participation on the campaign activities, but instead he promised to address citizens via party leaders as they tour local government areas.

However, opposition figures criticized the decision as a deliberate attempt to avoid answering for the economic record of his administration. The ADC Presidential Campaign Council issue a press statement insisting that before the president ask Nigerians for another mandate, he should face them and account for the first term.
