The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has tasked serving governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to increase grassroots mobilisation and secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in their respective states during the 2027 presidential elections.
Wike issued the directive in Abuja on Wednesday during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. The minister pledged to personally deliver both Rivers State and the FCT, stressing that infrastructural development in the federal capital territory is enough proof that the president is working.

Addressing the campaign council members, Wike stated that holding administrative positions within the ruling party would not excuse any governor from the primary responsibility of winning their home state.
“If you don’t deliver your state and the president wins, don’t say we have won. It is not a question of I am chairman of this, I am secretary of this, I am a member of this. I told the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, the other day that if the President did not win in Lagos, don’t say we have won,” the minister stated.
The inauguration ceremony attracted several political actors, including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who reiterated his commitment to commence swift political mobilisation to secure victory for Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
