The Kwankwasiyya Movement has appealed to its members and supporters to remain calm following the omission of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, from the final list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The exclusion also affected Gwarzo’s running mate, Mustapha Kwankwaso, raising serious concern among party loyalists across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In a press statement issued by Habibu Mohammed, the spokesperson of the movement, they expressed confidence in available administrative and legal mechanisms to resolve the issue within the timeframe permitted by law.
The movement stated that the candidate complied fully with all party registration guidelines within the stipulated period, adding that it was unaware of any judicial order sanctioning the exclusion.
“We appeal to everyone to remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from speculation while the matter is being addressed through the appropriate administrative and legal channels” .
The group urged the NDC leadership to submit all relevant verification documents to seek official rectification.
