Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has ignited debate across social media platforms following his controversial claim that God intentionally created “side chics” to help men manage difficult periods in their marriages.
Speaking during a recent talk show, the veteran actor offered an unconventional perspective on the rising rate of divorce, stressing that abandoning God’s original design is the primary cause of the rising divorce rate.
Inojie argued that because the creator anticipated the inherent difficulties of matrimony, alternative avenues were instituted to ensure marriages survive rocky patches.
“One of the reasons the rate of divorce is high is because we humans have left God’s original design for marriage. For instance, God knows marriage would not be easy, that’s why He created side chicks so that when things are hard at home, the man can use the side chick to save the marriage because side chick is very important in every marriage,” Inojie stated.
The actor’s statement have ignited debates across social media platforms, as many women pushed back against the narrative, countering that the same logic implies God created “sugar boys” to satisfy stressed married women.
