Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, leading delegates to study how the East African nation is successfully tackling food insecurity and malnutrition.

This follows an official invitation of Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh, for the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange.

The Vice President is accompanied by a top-tier federal and state delegation, including Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Budget and Economic Planning Minister Abubakar Bagudu, Agriculture Minister Abubakar Kyari, and NEMA Director-General Zubaida Umar.

During the working visit, the delegation will meet Ethiopian officials to examine how the country coordinates agriculture, healthcare, and social welfare programs across all levels of government.

The Nigerian team is also scheduled to inspect several agricultural projects firsthand including a wheat farm and banana plantation in Oromia, the “Bounty of the Basket” Training Centre in Mojo, and an industrial site in Bishoftu.
