Troops rescue mother, infant, 3 others in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued five kidnapped victims, including a mother and her baby, following a successful ambush in Katsina State.

According to a report by The Punch, military forces acted on intelligence regarding suspicious terrorist movements around Madaci Forest in Sabuwa Local Government Area.

The sudden arrival of the troops caught the bandits off guard, creating confusion in their camp and forcing them to abandon the hostages. Among those rescued were a mother with her infant, as well as three younger victims from the Danja and Funtua local government areas.

After the rescue, the military handed over all five victims to the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, Hon. Abubakar Musa, to reunite them safely with their families.

In a separate operation in Sokoto State, troops of the 248 Reconnaissance Battalion successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Badiya Village, Shagari Local Government Area.

After a brief gun battle, the fleeing attackers left behind a large herd of stolen livestock. The animals were later returned to their rightful owners during a community gathering organized by the local government chairman and the District Head.

Military authorities confirmed that ground troops are keeping up aggressive patrols across Katsina and Sokoto states to clear out criminal hideouts and restore lasting peace to local communities.
