President Bola Tinubu has concluded his working vacation in France and departed Paris for Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
According to an official statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s aircraft is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later on Tuesday.
President Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending one week in London before traveling to Paris. The Presidency explained that the President chose to touch down in Lagos first to honor the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
The President is scheduled to attend the premiere of a biographical feature film honoring Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos on Independence Day, October 1. During his stay in Lagos, he will also hold strategic consultative sessions with key political figures and associates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Throughout his stay in Paris, President Tinubu engaged in several bilateral and trade discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and high-level talks with Vincent Bolloré, whose business group oversees major tech, media, and broadcast brands like Canal+, MultiChoice, and Universal Music Group.
President Tinubu during his trip, also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and global logistics leader DP World, for a $7 billion Gateway deep seaport and Blue Marine Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside.
President Tinubu will return to the State House in Abuja, after the conclusion of his political consultations and Independence Day events in Lagos.
