Mozambique’s newly inaugurated President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, has promised his national team, the Mambas, a bonus of 500,000 Meticais, which is approximately ₦11.3 million naira, per player if they defeat Nigeria on Monday.

The announcement was made after Mozambique’s first-ever qualification for the AFCON knockout stages, achieved despite a narrow 2-1 loss to Cameroon in their final group game.

Your courage, discipline, and determination have filled the nation with pride. The entire country stands behind you to overcome the Super Eagles –  President Daniel Francisco Chapo

They are to contend with Nigeria, who topped Group C with 3 wins from 3 games at the group level. ‎Mozambique will face the Nigerian tactical team featuring, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, which conceded only one goal so far.

The clash is set for the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Fez, Morocco, on Monday, January 5, at 8:00 PM local time.
