The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The recruitment exercise is targeted at strengthening community policing, enhancing internal security, and expanding the NPF’s manpower base nationwide.
The application portal is set to open in December and will run into January of the following year.
The PSC emphasized that the exercise will be conducted in a transparent, merit-based, and credible manner, and applicants are strongly warned to beware of fraudsters.
The recruitment is open under two categories which includes General Duty and Specialist Cadres. Candidates are to apply with either their GCE O’Level, SSCE/NECO with a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings, with the age limit of 18 to 25 years. While specialists candidates need 4 credits, including English and Maths, up to 28 years old, and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience plus Trade Test certificates.
Candidates must also have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience and relevant Trade Tests in specialized fields (e.g., Medical Assistants, IT, Drivers, Welders, etc.). Male applicants should be up to 1.67m tall, while Female 1.64m tall.
