A public altercation involving soldiers and police officers erupted at a popular market in the Hamaz area of Jos, Plateau State, causing temporary disruption of trading activities.
The incident, which occurred on December 1, 2025, reportedly began after a police officer intervened to prevent a soldier from arresting a roadside phone dealer. The confrontation led to the police officer being beaten and disarmed by colleagues of the soldier.

The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the incident and assured the public that the situation is under control, stating that the personnel involved have been sanctioned by their respective agencies’ management.
SP Alabo Alfred, Spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, stated;
