The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, alongside the Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary Umaru Bature for one month, just days after a court order halted the party’s planned national convention.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP took this disciplinary action on Saturday during an emergency meeting at the party’s Legacy House headquarters in Abuja.

The National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba disclosed that the suspensions followed an Abuja High Court ruling on Friday that stopped the December 15-16, 2025, convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The court order was triggered by internal disputes within the party, exposing deeper fractures among key members. The suspended officials, reported as allies of former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike, have been notably absent from recent party gatherings, fueling suspicions of factionalism within the PDP.

The NWC, in line with the party’s constitution, concluded that these officers engaged in anti-party activities and have therefore been suspended for one month and referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee for further action – Ologunagba

DP spokesman stressed that despite the suspension and the court injunction, the party remains focused on appealing the ruling and continuing it preparations for the convention.
