450 terrorists eliminated, 180 kidnap victims rescued in September

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced on Saturday that military operations in September resulted in the elimination of 450 terrorists and the rescue of 180 kidnap victims during internal security efforts.

‎The Defence Media Operations Director, Maj.-Gen Markus Kangye, revealed that 39 terrorists also surrendered to troops, with numerous weapons and ammunition recovered. These operations were conducted under various joint task forces including Operation Hadin Kai, Fansan Yamma, Enduring Peace, Whirl Stroke, Delta Safe, and Udo Ka.

‎In addition, troops recovered 63 assorted arms, 4,475 rounds of ammunition, and 294 items such as grenades, improvised explosive device materials, motorcycles, vehicles, and handheld radios.

‎Operation Delta Safe specifically seized crude oil valued at over ₦112 million from thieves and dismantled 41 illegal refining sites.

‎The Armed Forces encourage citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of the current operations to safeguard national stability.
