Six feared dead in fresh attacks on Bokkos community

At least six individuals are believed to have lost their lives following a violent raid in Ikn’gwakap, a settlement within Mushere Chiefdom in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. The assault occurred around midnight on Sunday when armed assailants entered the community and opened fire indiscriminately.

Eyewitnesses report that the attackers also set fire to multiple homes, causing destruction. The National Publicity Secretary of the Mushere Youth Movement, Kutyil Gashion Nahum, confirmed that among the victims were women and children, with a number of residents still unaccounted for.

Gashion Nahum urged the government to fulfill its responsibility to safeguard citizens and their properties. He called for urgent support for the affected families and those displaced by the violence.

He also appealed to community members to remain vigilant and protect their neighborhoods, stressing that the blood of their people must not continue to be shed in vain.

Efforts to restore peace and provide aid to survivors are underway, as authorities investigate the incident and attempt to secure the area.
