President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), overturning recent leadership reshuffles announced earlier this year.

In a directive, the President instructed that Mr. Dembo return to the helm of the NTA to fulfill the remaining term of his three-year appointment, which began in October 2023. This move effectively nullifies the changes introduced by the management overhaul that had briefly displaced him.

Alongside Mr. Dembos, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, who serves as NTA’s Executive Director of News since his 2024 appointment, has also been asked to resume his role to complete his tenure ending in 2027. These retreat from the prior decisions to install new leaders in key positions within the television network, including the roles of director-general, news executive, marketing director, and managing director  of the NTA.

Sources close to the presidency note that these adjustments aim to provide a consistent editorial and managerial direction at the broadcaster during a period of national developments.

The NTA will swiftly maintain its previous leadership team with Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General, following the reversal of earlier staff appointments for the foreseeable future.
