Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has donated one of his Yola residences to serve as the Adamawa State Secretariat for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The residence in question, situated in a prime location in Jimeta near the well-known Mubi Roundabout, formerly operated as the Adamawa State office for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Though still adorned in PDP colors as of Thursday evening.

This act forms part of a strategy by Atiku following his recent resignation from the PDP, an event that was soon followed by the defection of several prominent political figures to the ADC. Among these are Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani), the 2023 APC Adamawa governorship candidate, and Senator Jibrilla Bindow, who served as APC Governor from 2015 to 2019.

Umar Jada, a national ADC official and a strong supporter with a personal connection to Atiku, described the transfer of the property as a move that will provide a suitable working environment for the party’s activities.

Meanwhile, the ADC’s Adamawa State Chairman, Hon Shehu Yohanna, was unavailable for comment, but another party representative confirmed the transition and explained that the premises have not yet been repainted in ADC colors due to the PDP’s remaining assets inside.
