Tragedy struck Temidire Zone 4, Egbejila, Ilorin, on Thursday when Mrs. Esther Enemo, a 39-year-old expectant mother, was found murdered and dismembered near her home. The shocking discovery has deeply unsettled the neighborhood.
Mrs. Enemo, married to a local agricultural chemical trader, was discovered in a horrific state behind her residence, with several parts of her body missing. Additional remains were later located inside a sack abandoned beneath a nearby bridge. As of Saturday, her head remained unaccounted for.
Residents reported seeing Sylvester Enemo, the victim’s husband’s younger brother, leaving the home early that morning, carrying a blood-soaked black bag. This led authorities directly to the grim site where the body was uncovered. Neighbors recalled the woman spending the previous night alone, last observed purchasing beer and pepper soup, suggesting she may have been expecting company.
The family only recently settled in the area, intensifying the shock. His neighbors now grapple with fears and suspicions, including rumors about possible ritualistic motives and ethnic tensions in the diverse locality.
Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest during a press briefing:

Police Commissioner Ojo Adekimi has directed a thorough inquiry. The victim’s remains have been sent to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital morgue for further examination.
