On June 26, 2025, President Bola Tinubu declared at the Nigeria Public-Private Partnership Summit that his administration has strengthened the ICRC to drive transformative infrastructure projects nationwide.

Speaking at the State House Banquet Hall, Tinubu described the ICRC as the “engine room” for public-private partnerships (PPPs), empowered to regulate, de-risk, and fast-track projects. He emphasized a “structural reset” to align policy with execution for rapid development.

The President outlined Nigeria’s goal to raise infrastructure stock to 70% of GDP by 2043, urging private sector innovation and commitment. He highlighted improved transparency and streamlined approvals to attract investors for value-driven opportunities.

ICRC Director-General Dr. Jobson Ewalefoh noted that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda prioritizes PPPs for inclusive growth, citing projects like the Highway Development Initiative and Ikere Gorge Dam as examples of sustainable progress.

The two-day summit engaged federal ministries, state governors, and international partners like the World Bank, focusing on innovative financing, transport, and renewable energy to bolster Nigeria’s PPP ecosystem and drive economic growth.
