Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has unveiled his final 24-player squad for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The list sees the return of Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala, who has been absent from the national team since the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The squad features familiar names including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and defenders Osinachi Ohale, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Michelle Alozie. Veteran forward Francisca Ordega also makes the list. Three home-based players; Rachael Unachukwu, Sikiratu Isah, and Miracle Usani, have earned spots.
In preparation for the tournament, the Super Falcons will play two friendly matches. They face Portugal in Lisbon next Monday, followed by a clash against Ghana’s Black Queens in Morocco on June 29.
The 2024 WAFCON will be hosted in Morocco, running from July 5 to July 26, as the Falcons aim to secure their 10th continental title.
