The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima has officially received former Katsina State government scribe Dr. Mustapha Inuwa back into the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday.

Dr. Inuwa recently stepped down as the leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and instructed his supporters to rejoin the ruling party.

Inuwa once served as the pioneer APC chairman in Katsina State and worked as Secretary to the State Government under former Governor Aminu Masari.

In 2022, Inuwa ran for the APC governorship ticket but finished second to the current governor, Dikko Radda. After that primary, he left the party for the Peoples Democratic Party and eventually became a top opposition figure in the ADC.

However, his relationship with the ADC leadership recently broke down over their candidate selection process, which made him return to his former party after a  meeting in August with VP Shettima and Governor Radda.

Speaking at the welcome ceremony in Katsina, Vice President Shettima praised him for uniting the party front.

“We have seen that the state is rooted in the ruling APC. I am optimistic that we will win all the seats in the state and the country as a whole”, Shettima.

He also commended Governor Radda’s efforts in bringing political actors, such as Dr. Mustapha Inuwa and a host of others, into the APC fold.
